Event Videography Tips
1. Treat videography as a professional business. Know that you can't just break into it overnight, but that it takes time and dedication.
2. Videographers must know absolutely everything about their cameras before doing an event. What happens if the video camera suddenly goes into some weird mode and you don't know how to change it? Or you accidentally hit the wrong button and don't know what to do?
3. Videographers must know how to shoot sequences. If you call yourself a professional videographer and all you do is shoot wide shots of everything, you will never get anywhere. Shoot different shots of the same subject to create a sequence.
4. Don't use a digital SLR camera if you're a videographer. If you do this you won't look as professional and your footage will likely be shaky since they don't yet have image stabilization features. The HD video will look great quality but the difference is people will assume you are an amateur using a still camera to shoot video. The exception is if you have a professional rig for the dSLR camera.
