You should have a good idea by now of what you’re going to create because you asked some clients (or friends/family) which item they would be most likely to download.
Also, feel free to email me at [email protected] before spending your time creating your product if you’re not 100% sure if it’s going to work. I’m happy to give you my opinion!

When you create your product, keep the following in mind:
- Content is more important than design. Most people don’t care if it looks perfect, as long as they learn something and get immense value out of it.
- Under-promise and over-deliver. Make sure that whatever you plan on putting into the product is actually more than you promise to people (never less). Surprise and delight your clients by giving them more value than they could ever expect, and they’ll be so happy and excited that they’ll forward the info to their friends, which could lead to more email signups!
- Make it easy to get through. Most people don’t have time and want to skim things or watch things and not have to think about it too much. Make the information simple and easy to digest, and don’t make the information too in-depth yet. You can save that for later in your email followup campaign.
- At the end, include info about your company and make sure to add a professional photo of yourself and/or your team. This will instantly build trust and create an emotional connection with the reader so they know who you are and appreciate the value you’ve built for them.
Format it in PDF or Quicktime Video
You can design the downloadable product using a program like Mac Keynote or Microsoft Powerpoint and save it as a PDF, or film yourself speaking to a camera and edit the video with a program like iMovie or windows Movie Maker.
Make sure the format you save it in is either PDF (if it's a readable document) or Quicktime Video (if it's a playable movie). These formats are most likely to work on all different types of computers and smart devices. Additionally, you should be sure that the file size is not over 7MB if possible. Be certain to compress your video to a smaller size or save your PDF with compressed images.
Remember: if the files are too big your prospect may have trouble downloading or opening it on their computer.
